　一、专业介绍

　计算机科学(Computer science)专业，主要是培养学生具有计算机科学与技术方面的基础理论和相关技巧，学生会涉及到自然科学、人文和社会科学知识，计算机理论基础、专业理论知识和实现能力等多个方面，美国大学计算机科学(Computer Science)是一门包含各种各样与计算和信息处理相关主题的系统学科，从抽象的算法、形式化语法，到更具体的主题如编程语言、程序设计、软件和硬件等，计算机科学分为理论计算机科学和实验计算机科学两个部分。

　美国大学的计算机专业多数设置在文理学院或工学院下，或者开设在计算机学院下，每个学院都有自己的侧重点，但美国大学计算机课程CS主要有13个研究分支： 体系结构、编译器和并行计算、系统与网络 Systems and Networking、理论与算法 Theory and Algorithms、人工智能 Artificial Intelligence、编程语言 Programming Languages、数据库与信息系统 Database and Information Systems、图形学与多媒体 Graphics and Multimedia、人机交互 Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)、科学计算 Scientific Computing、信息安全 Security、软件工程 Software Engineering、生物信息学和计算生物学、计算机教育 Computers and Education共13个方面。

　 二、申请要求

　由于每所美国院校在计算机科学上的研究方向不同，各有千秋，故在课程设置上也有一定的差异，自然对学生的申请要求也会有些变化，但基本的几项申请指标如下：

　1.在校成绩GPA：美国大学对学生的GPA普遍要求3.0分以上，但从历年的录取率来看，成功申请美国大学TOP10的学生GPA在3.6以上，另外，个别学校的新生入学平均GPA为3.8分。

　2.托福TOEFL：一般要求托福的平均分为80分以上，但常藤盟校最好在100+才是有申请优势的分数;

　3.GRE：由于计算机科学需要学员具有很强的逻辑性和系统的规划能力，所以，GRE成绩一般要求GRE数学成绩要在95%，甚至97%以上;

　4.软性条件：虽然上述的硬性指标是美国大学申请的必须条件，但软性材料-是美国大学招生的时候重点考虑的条件之一，因为教授要看你的研究能力，要看你的各种奖项以及推荐信等等。
